Bizim medeniyetimizde oldugu gibi birçok kadim kültürde de insan egitiminde sadece talebenin aklina bilginin yüklenmesinden ziyade, o aklin bagli oldugu ruh ve kalp de dikkate alinir. Bu anlayis zamanla yayginligini kaybetmis, egitim ve terbiye sadece akla hitap eden tek boyutlu bir süreç hâlini almistir. Içinde yasadigimiz zaman ve bu zamanin yaygin egitim müesseseleri ise insanin ruhi ve kalbî boyutunu ya tamamen ihmal etmistir veya akla öncelik tanimistir.
